Santiago and his friends go on an adventure to find the lost treasure of Capitan Calavera in order to become the new protector of their island, Isla Encanto. They face challenges from Bonnie Bones, a greedy pirate, and ultimately succeed in finding the treasure. Santiago is named the new pirate captain and protector of the island by the mayor.
1. Santiago's grandfather, Captain Calaveras, was a good pirate who protected their island with his magic compass, sword, and pirate ship.
2. On Captain Calaveras' 100th birthday, legend has it that a young pirate will find his long-lost treasure and become the new protector of the island.
3. Santiago and his cousin Tomas set out to find the treasure.
4. They discover that Bonnie Bones has the treasure and wants to trade it for Santiago's friend Kiko and his pirate ship.
5. Santiago refuses to make the trade and instead decides that friendship and family are more important than any treasure.
6. Santiago and his crew, with the help of Lorelei the mermaid, successfully retrieve the treasure and return it to the island.
7. Santiago becomes the new protector of the island and is given a journal to write down all his adventures.
