The text is a detailed narration of a story about the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Srinivas in the Kali Yuga. The story begins with the question of who should be worshipped first in the Kali Yuga, with Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu all having their devotees. The narrator then tells the story of Srinivas, who was born as a small child and lived with God on the banks of a lake. He grew up and performed severe penance in a forest, praying for the attainment of Lakshmi.
When Lakshmi got angry and left, Srinivas was left alone. Brahma and Shiva then went to Lakshmi to convince her to come back. Lakshmi agreed, but only if Srinivas would give her darshan. Srinivas agreed and Lakshmi came back. Srinivas then grew up and married Padmavati, the daughter of a king.
One day, an elephant came and wanted to catch Padmavati, but Srinivas protected her. Padmavati then fell in love with Srinivas. After a few years, Srinivas and Padmavati were married and lived happily in palaces. However, when God came to take them to Vaikuntha, Padmavati refused to leave Srinivas.
Lakshmi then asked Srinivas who Padmavati was, and Srinivas explained that she was his wife. Lakshmi then asked who played the role of Sita in Treta Yuga, and Srinivas explained that it was another woman. Lakshmi then asked when Sita was abducted by Ravana, and Srinivas explained that it was during the time of Bedhati, who had become Sita.
Finally, Srinivas promised Lakshmi that he would come back as Srinivas and marry Padmavati in Kali Yuga. Seeing them quarreling, God turned them into stone. Today, they are known as Tirupati Balaji and his consorts, Sridevi, Bhoot Devi, and Leela Devi. The story ends with the mention of the temple of Tirupati Balaji and the conch wheel given to him by Ramanujacharya.
