This is largely due to the car's high price and the fact that it's not a hatchback, which are typically the best-selling cars in Europe. The Model Y's sales have grown by 198% in Europe this year.
The Model Y's success has been attributed to a 190% rise in volume, with Tesla selling 20,000 Model Ys during August. The Model Y was not the best-selling car in July, but it regained that title in August.
The Volkswagen T-Rock was the top seller in July, but it's in a tight race for second place with the 208. Despite the T-Rock's sales being down 45%, the 208, which has an electric version, saw its sales increase by 2.5%.
The Tesla Model 3's sales grew by 280% in August, despite the fact that a new and better version of the Model 3 is about to hit European shores. The new Model 3 is expected to boost sales this year.
